Winstar Communications, Inc. provides telecommunications services, including local, long distance and internet access services, as a local exchange carrier. Winstar Communications, Inc. provides businesses with broadband services. Winstar offers its services across its own end-to-end broadband network in 60 major markets in the United States, including each of the top 30 U.S. markets. The Company also offers services in 12 overseas markets, including London, Brussels, Buenos Aires and Tokyo. The Company's broadband network allows it to offer an integrated suite of communications and information services, including local and long distance voice services; always-on and dial-up Internet access; ATM, frame relay and IP data transport services; web hosting and web design and development services; online business content, including, a service from the Company's online business center; online application hosting services, including Microsoft Office 2000 Online; network and applications solutions for vertical business communities; and LAN and WAN systems integration. For the three months ended 3/00, total revenues increased 85% to $162.8 million. Net loss applicable to Com. rose 7% to $176 million. Results reflect growth in the number of addressable customers, partially offset by increased depreciation from acquisitions of broadband equipment. Subsequently went bankrupt and is no longer in business.
